Innovation @ USC

USC is an institution that encourages and values innovative scholarship, teaching and research.  The resources available here are meant to provide students interested in the Diploma in Innovation specifically, and members of the Trojan Family more generally, with access to innovation at USC.

Annenberg Innovation Lab
Open to the entire USC community, the Annenberg Innovation Lab is a meeting place and technology facility to support the collaborative development of innovations in media technologies, applications and communication practices as well as research in these areas.

Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families
The Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families brings together innovative technology development with university research leadership, strong linkages with the military, and long experience in professional training of behavioral healthcare professionals to deliver both a classroom and online certificate that advances professional capacity to work with service members, veterans and their families.

Game Innovation Lab
The Game Innovation Lab is the primary research space and think tank for experimental game design within the Interactive Media Division, where new concepts in game design, play and usability are being developed, prototyped and play tested.

Health, Technology and Engineering (HTE@USC) is part of a larger USC effort to promote rapid advances in healthcare through research and education combining the essentials of medicine with advanced engineering and scientific technologies.

Information Sciences Institute
The Information Sciences Institute (ISI) is a world leader in research and development of advanced information processing, computer and communications technologies.  A unit of USC’s highly ranked Viterbi School of Engineering, ISI is one of the nation’s largest, most successful university-affiliated computer research institutes.

Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies
The Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies is among the nation’s leaders in entrepreneurship education and research, with programs that help students acquire the tools, develop the skills, and cultivate the mindset central to organizing, launching, and managing successful new ventures.

Marshall Center for Global Innovation
The USC Marshall Center for Global Innovation creates and disseminates cutting edge research on how innovation helps firms compete, growth, and succeed in today’s global environment.

Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab
The USC Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab provides opportunities for USC students, faculty, and other individuals to use business principles to solve world problems.  Through education, programs, events, and career development, the Social Enterprise Lab inspires the next generation of enlightened business leaders and social entrepreneurs.

USC Creative Media & Behavioral Health Center
The Creative Media & Behavioral Health Center’s mission is to improve medical treatments  through innovative clinical, research and commercial applications using transmedia storytelling and emerging technologies.  The entertainment applications being developed at the center fall at the intersection of behavioral science, medicine and public health.

USC Global Innovation Challenge Summer
The Kauffman Foundation’s Global Innovation Challenge Summer Program focuses on teaching students to develop innovative skill sets that will promote entrepreneurship in developing countries.  The initiative partners University of Southern California students with students in India to focus on local problems in India that must be solved for citizens to evolve to a more sophisticated entrepreneurial economy.

USC Institute for Creative Technologies
At USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) high-tech tools and classic storytelling come together to pioneer new ways to teach and to train, with the goal of creating engaging and effective immersive experiences that shape the future of learning.

USC Stevens Center for Innovation
The USC Stevens Center helps empower innovation at USC by helping USC student and faculty researchers manage intellectual property, create start-ups and connect with funding.
